"Houston, Texas producer Ape Drums has made a name for himself by crushing it heavily on remixes of Major Lazer and Busta Ryhmes heaters while preparing to release his first original track in a few days time. To further hype the anticipated release, the folks over at Slow Roast Records (Kill the Noise / CRAZE) along with Ape Drums present "The Bashment Mix", which is also the name of the producers debut single. The mix is jam packed with trap, bass, hip-hop and moombahton edits and features a shit ton of collaborations with producers in the aforementioned genres. Turn your volumes to 11 and stream this exclusive premiere below along with a free download option. Enjoy!"

"I first caught wind of Ape Drums back a few months ago via RL Grime’s jam-packed Halloween Mix, where the monstrous bass of “Worl’ Boss” fit in nicely between trap and hip-hop selections. With a gritty dancehall mid-section, it’s no wonder it managed to slide it’s way in to the sets of Dillon Francis and DJ SNAKE as well. The Houston-based producer drives a sound similar to the Jamaican dance fusion that Major Lazer champions, and is now back with a freebie just in time for the holidays. Cruising along at a steady 110 BPM, “Wine Yuh Back” packs a dangerous bass punch and a elephant trunk of a synth line. With Suku adding some deep vocals, it’s a chant worthy combination that would annihilate a big room system."

"Recently, Slow Roast's DJ Craze expressed his love of Ape Drums' sound, specifically speaking on his ability to infuse the dancehall sound into his tracks. Makes sense that Slow Roast would release Ape Drums' latest single, "Bashment (Bun Dem)." You can hear the vibe perfectly in the tempo of the tune, but if you hit up our own We Keep It, Vol. 2 release, Ape Drums took it to the next level, truly encompassing everything that's amazing about dancehall and essentially giving it an EDM shine. He could be one of the best artists to check out if you're looking for the point where dancehall and EDM meet."
